Americans purchased nearly 16 million firearms in response to President Joe Biden’s gun control agenda, as indicated by new FBI background check data.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation reported an estimated 15.8 million actual sales in 2023, with December alone seeing over 1.7 million gun buys.

NSSF spokesperson, Mark Oliva, emphasized that these figures reflect Americans’ desire to exercise Second Amendment rights and their commitment to personal safety and freedoms. (Trending: Trump Announces Heartbreaking Melania-Related Health Update)

Oliva said, “Americans showed they want their Second Amendment rights by the millions — once again. These are solid figures that reflect the mood of Americans and the desire to exercise Second Amendment rights.”

“These figures are a reminder of the importance law-abiding citizens place on their personal safety and freedoms, even as the Biden-Harris administration is using a ‘whole-of-government’ approach to chill and ultimately eliminate those rights,” he continued.

Additionally, the group highlighted that 24 states allow previously approved gun buyers to add to their collections without a new background check, suggesting that the actual number of gun purchases may be higher.

The Biden campaign’s promise to preserve American democracy and rights is contrasted with gun owners’ concerns about potential infringement of constitutional rights.

The industry anticipates continued growth in firearm sales as the 2024 campaign progresses.

“These figures are encouraging for the firearm industry going into 2024. History indicates that background checks for the lawful sale of firearms typically rise during election years. This industry is ready to satisfy the demand for lawful firearm ownership in America,” said Oliva.
