The NBA experienced a significant drop in TV ratings on Christmas Day compared to the NFL.

The NFL’s three games on Christmas Day garnered much higher viewership, with the Las Vegas Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs game averaging 29.171 million viewers, marking the most-watched Christmas Day program in CBS history and the highest-rated NFL game since 1989.

In contrast, the NBA’s five-game lineup saw a notable decline in viewership, with the highest-rated game, Los Angeles Lakers vs. Boston Celtics, attracting 5 million viewers on ESPN and ABC.

AS.com reported that the Christmas Day game was “the highest-rated NFL game since 1989.”

This indicates that the NFL was the clear winner in terms of viewership on Christmas Day.
