Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an independent presidential candidate, has appointed Del Bigtree, a well-known vaccine skeptic, as his campaign’s new communications director.
Bigtree, founder of the Informed Consent Action Network, has a history of collaboration with Kennedy, who previously chaired a well-funded vaccine skeptic group.
Bigtree’s appointment prompted Stefanie Spear, a former editor at Children’s Health Defense, to assume the role of press secretary. (Trending: Donald Trump Breaks His Silence After Major Court Win)
Kennedy’s decision to run as an independent followed his dissatisfaction with the Democratic Party’s treatment of his candidacy.
“I held the positions of press secretary and communications director with plans of handing off the comms director role once we found the right person for the job,” former editor of Children’s Health Defense’s news website Stefanie Spear wrote.
“We found that person and that’s Del Bigtree,” she added.
“Del brings decades of experience as an Emmy-winning producer, digital assets master, and social media expert, among many other attributes.”
“The Democrats are frightened that I’m going to spoil the election for President Biden, and the Republicans are frightened that I’m going to spoil it for [former President Donald] Trump,” Kennedy said previously.
“The truth is, they’re both right. My intention is to spoil it for both of them.”
Kennedy’s campaign has gained traction, with a recent poll placing him at 9.5% in a seven-way ballot race.
