The Camden Council in London, controlled by the Labour Party, has implemented measures to ensure that private companies demonstrate commitment to LGBTQ+ equality to do business with the council.
This move includes requiring businesses to align with the council’s values and influence positively.
The council has also incorporated LGBTQ+ equality into its procurement processes and introduced transgender awareness sessions and celebrations for specific LGBTQ+ events. (Trending: Trump Announces Heartbreaking Melania-Related Health Update)

The Labour Party-run council vowed to, “work with businesses whose values align with our own, and to use our position of power to positively influence”.
“We are beginning to ask businesses to demonstrate their commitment to LGBTQ+ equality before we procure them,” wrote the council.
Critics, including Reform UK London mayoral candidate Howard Cox and former Brexit Party MEP Martin Daubney, have condemned the council’s actions as discriminatory and absurd, emphasizing that businesses should be judged solely on the quality of their products and services.
Howard Cox said, “This ultra Left-wing council should be censured for their needless discriminatory behaviour against private businesses.”
“What their potential and existing suppliers offer to Camden’s local taxpayers has nothing to do with marginalised sexuality and gender identity employment policies,” he continued.
“These businesses should be judged only on the quality of product, service and value for money they offer. Yet another clueless London Labour council that has lost sight of all common sense for a minority and very unpopular political ideals,” added the lawmaker.
Former Brexit Party MEP and GB News presenter Martin Daubney, said, “How did such clowns ever get into positions of influence? This is public money – not some LGBTQ+ vanity project.”
The move aligns with London Mayor Sadiq Khan’s focus on inclusion and diversity, including initiatives for LGBTQ+ housing.
