A San Diego Sector Border Patrol agent rescued an injured female migrant from a steep mountainside in the Otay Mountains.
The migrant was unable to climb to safety after crossing the border illegally.

In a recent incident, a BORSTAR operator carried an injured migrant 300 meters up a steep hill near Otay Lakes Damn. The woman was unable to walk & had to be evacuated to a safe location to go to the hospital.

San Diego Sector Chief Patrol Agent Patricia McGurk-Daniel said, “The woman was unable to walk & had to be evacuated to a safe location to go to the hospital.”
San Diego Sector agents have apprehended over 61,000 migrants in the first two months of FY24, marking a significant increase from the previous year.
