Green Day’s performance on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” caused controversy among Donald Trump supporters due to a lyric change in the song “American Idiot” to “I’m not a part of the MAGA agenda.”
“During the band’s performance on New Year’s Eve, lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong changed a line from its hit ‘American Idiot’ from ‘I’m not a part of a redneck agenda’ to ‘I’m not a part of the MAGA agenda,'” the report noted.
Trump supporters reacted negatively on social media, calling the band “sellouts” and “losers.”

Others, however, defended Green Day’s political stance and pointed out that the song was originally a critique of George W. Bush’s presidency.
