In preparation for the 2024 campaign, President Biden’s team is cautiously escalating their opposition against Donald Trump, aiming to highlight the extremism of his rhetoric and promises.
Despite internal concerns about Biden’s approval ratings and Democratic divisions, the team plans to leverage upcoming Republican primary campaigns to shape the narrative in their favor.
“You have this moment in the first quarter where he is continuing to go full MAGA extremist now in order to shore up support in his own base,” a senior campaign aide stated. (Trending: Donald Trump Breaks His Silence After Major Court Win)
“While he may be successful in that effort, if we do our job, we’ll point out that everything he’s saying is extreme and unpopular.”
Biden’s aides are also focused on refining his second-term agenda, addressing concerns from Democratic allies and emphasizing contrasts between Biden’s accomplishments and Trump’s promises.
“There’s zero distance between these folks on the insane and dangerous worldview for which they’re advocating,” the aide stated.
“Our ability to develop a contrast does not change based on who has the nomination at this point.”
The campaign aims to emphasize Trump’s record and potential impact on the American people, pushing for a national debate on tax fairness and highlighting policy differences.
“(Trump) does take up a lot of oxygen right now. But most of that oxygen right now is about the stakes for him – what may or may not happen to Donald Trump, and very little about how that is going to impact the American people. We have to make sure it’s about the harm he’s going to inflict on the American people,” the campaign concluded.
