CNN’s Dana Bash said, “You look at the issues and how he fares, infrastructure, jobs, climate change, inflation, immigration, he is down 26%. That is not good. It’s not good at all.”
NYC Mayor Eric Adams said, “We cannot continue to do the federal government’s job.”
“We have spoken to FEMA and other federal officials who have expressed concern about the border’s surge, but not offered additional help. Without significant intervention from the federal government, this mission will not be sustained,” he continued.
Monmouth University Polling Institute’s Dir. Patrick Murray, said, “The Biden administration keeps touting their infrastructure investments and a host of positive economic indicators. Those data points may be factual, but most Americans are still smarting from higher prices caused by post-pandemic inflation.”
“This seems to be what’s driving public opinion. There is political danger in pushing a message that basically tells people their take on their own situation is wrong,” he continued.
The Biden administration is under pressure to make policy compromises, especially due to the migrant crisis being shifted to blue states by red state governors.
Only three out of ten Americans believe the president is adequately addressing their top issues, posing potential challenges for a re-election bid.
