Hamas and Islamic Jihad rejected a proposed ceasefire, insisting on a complete end to aggression.
A permanent ceasefire with Hamas is seemingly impossible, as the terrorist group’s very reason for existing is the destruction of Israel.
The mayor of Gaza City’s plea for a ceasefire has been strongly countered by the idea that Hamas must go, as they consistently prioritize conflict over peaceful coexistence.
Supporters of Israel have pointed to the contrast between Hamas’ destructive agenda and Israel’s desire for Palestinians to live peacefully, despite the narrative pushed by anti-Israel protestors around the globe.
“There can be no negotiations without a complete stop to the aggression,” a Hamas spokesman said.
“The Hamas leadership is aiming with all its might for a complete, not temporary, end to the aggression and massacres of our people.”
