A former leader of a Black Lives Matter chapter in Rhode Island expressed strong support for Donald Trump, stating that Trump has done more for Black people than any other president in his lifetime.

A recent survey showed that 17% of Black voters would vote for Trump if the election were held today, while 63% would support Biden.

Mark Fisher said Donald Trump was the, “best current candidate for the Black community” and that the former president speaks “directly to the needs of Black people very loud and clear.”

“He’s not duplicitous about it,” he continued.

“His record is proven, and it precedes him. He’s done more for Black people than any other president than I can think of in my lifetime, so I want to give him another opportunity,” added the activist.

“I’m just a person with individual concepts and ideas and I’m an independent thinker,” said Fisher.

“I’m outspoken and I’m not afraid to be a leader. And when you do that, when you go against the grain, you’re going to get a lot of pushback,” he continued.

“I feel like I’m on an island. I feel like if you love white people, Black people are going to hate you. If you love Black people, then white people are going to hate you. I don’t care what people think. I’m tired of people cashing in on American division, American suffering and I’m here to put a stop to it,” added the former BLM leader.
