Allies and media influencers of Donald Trump are actively discouraging the idea of him selecting Nikki Haley as a potential running mate.

Despite Haley’s rising popularity, Trump’s confidants are expressing strong opposition, citing concerns about her alignment with Trump’s base and her past criticisms of the former president.

“The one thing I would say, nobody ever votes for the vice president,” Trump said. (Trending: Founding Dixie Chick Member Dies Unexpectedly)

Haley, on the other hand, has made it clear that she is focused on her own presidential ambitions and is not interested in being anyone’s vice president.

“It’s not even a conversation, and it doesn’t matter what candidate wants me to answer it: I don’t play for second,” Haley said.

“It’s offensive when anybody says that, ‘Oh, she wants to be vice president.’ You don’t do something like this to be vice president. You don’t sacrifice emotionally, mentally, physically with your family, everything to come in second.”

The early pushback against Haley underscores the early mobilization within Trump’s base, highlighting the significance of the vice presidential pick as a potential heir to Trump’s legacy.

Despite the speculation, it remains uncertain whether Trump is genuinely considering Haley for the role.

“There’s only one good thing about Nikki Haley,” said conservative Gavin Wax.

“It’s that everyone in MAGA hates her guts.”
