A fire at South Fork Dairy in Texas led to the death of nearly 18,000 cows, making it the deadliest cattle fire in America in at least a decade.

The fire started in a manure vacuum truck and has raised concerns surrounding the lack of regulation for such equipment.

The incident highlighted the trend of larger concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs) and the potential risks associated with their scale. (Trending: Joe Biden Emailed Hunter’s Business Associates 54 Times)

“I wasn’t sure if I was dreaming,” Ezra Linzer recalled.

Additionally, the use of biogas digesters to convert animal waste into renewable energy raised environmental and safety concerns.

The fire’s impact on the workers and the lack of regulation for farm equipment were also significant points of discussion.
