A middle school teacher in Southern California asked his students what to buy someone in their 30s for the holidays, and their responses, shared on TikTok, have gained widespread attention.

While most answers were innocent, some appeared to mock Millennials, suggesting gifts like wine and hip implants.

“Measuring cups,” commented a 7th grader.

“Signs that say ‘bless this home,’” suggested another.

“A bottle of wine and hip implants,” joked a middle school student.

“Panera gift card. People in their 30s love soup!” recommended another youngster.

“You get them old people candles that smell like ‘home’ or ‘back then,’” added another middle school student.

“But are they wrong? Because I honestly love soup and candles. I’m 36,” commented an older user.

“Not me thinking all those gifts sound amazing,” shared another.

According to People magazine, the Palm Springs teacher, identified by the outlet only as “Mr. Frakes”, and goes by 7thgradechronicles on TikTok said, “I am honestly not that phased by the students’ responses.”
