Israel conducted airstrikes in Damascus, killing a high-ranking Iranian general, Reza Mousawi, who was responsible for coordinating Iran’s military alliance in Syria.

Israel did not comment on the strike, and various Iranian officials vowed retaliation against Israel for the killing.

“I won’t comment on foreign reports, these or others in the Middle East,” IDF spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said. (Trending: Judge Announces Historic Ruling In Jeffrey Epstein Case)

“The Israeli military obviously has a job to protect the security interests of Israel.”

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that the “savage Zionist regime” would pay for the crime.

“This act is a sign of the Zionist regime’s frustration and weakness in the region for which it will certainly pay the price,” Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said.

This incident has also drawn attention to Mousawi’s close relationship with former IRGC commander Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in a U.S. airstrike in 2020.

“The usurper and savage Zionist regime will pay for this crime,” the IRGC said.

“Iran reserves the right to take necessary measures to respond to this action at the appropriate time and place,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani stated.
