In the past decade, hundreds of children as young as three years old have been referred to Britain’s Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS) transgender clinic, with a significant increase in referrals in recent years.

The clinic, which has no official age limit, saw 382 children aged six and under, including 12 three-year-olds, referred between 2010 and 2020.

The Tavistock Trust’s gender clinic has faced criticism for its approach and has been under scrutiny for potentially misdiagnosing and causing harm to children, leading to legal action from over a thousand families.
