Hugh Hewitt discussed the record number of migrant encounters at the U.S.-Mexico border, highlighting that 8 million people had crossed over during the first three years of the Biden administration, compared to 3 million or less during the four years of the Trump administration.

“8 million people — encounters — have crossed over in three years of the Biden administration. Northern border and southern border. 8 million encounters.”
“Under President Trump, in four years, it was 3 million encounters or less. So just the raw number is enormous.”
“What I have to say about the meetings is what you kind of intimated in your monologue there, your intro,” Hewitt added.
“They had good meetings. Really great meetings. Super meetings. They should have some more meetings. That’s a substitution of activity for action.”
“What needs to happen is finishing the wall and a comprehensive, tough immigration overhaul. But Harold [Ford]’s party doesn’t want to do that until and unless they do we’re going to have this problem.”
