A helicopter on assignment for Philadelphia station WPVI-TV crashed in New Jersey, resulting in the deaths of the pilot and photographer on board.
The helicopter, leased from U.S. Helicopters Inc., was returning from the Jersey shore when it crashed in Washington Township.
The National Transportation Safety Board will lead the investigation into the crash, which occurred in a remote area of Wharton State Forest. (Trending: Prominent LGBTQ Activist Arrested Over Disturbing Charges)

“Just an absolute tragedy,” said WPVI reporter Katherine Scott.
New Jersey State Park Police Chief George Fedorczyk said, “Our thoughts are with the pilots, their families and the media community.”
The flight route appeared normal until the helicopter dropped in altitude and ultimately crashed.
