A record number of over 12,600 migrant encounters occurred at the U.S. southern border on Monday, with thousands flooding into Eagle Pass, Texas.

The Del Rio and Tucson Sectors have seen overwhelming numbers, prompting Arizona’s Democratic Governor to deploy the National Guard.

The border has experienced record-high encounters, with over 10,000 daily encounters and around 670,000 “gotaways” slipping past Border Patrol agents in FY 23. (Trending: FBI Bribery Probe Caught Joe Biden’s Brother On Tape)

The Biden administration is seeking additional funding and immigration reform from Congress, while negotiations are ongoing, aiming for compromises to address the crisis.

“We are making real progress,” Sen. James Lankford said.

“We finally have everybody at the table and everyone admitting that this is a national security crisis that we do have to address.”

“That’s actually progress,” he said.
