Grace Szymchack gave birth to her second daughter, Annabelle, earlier than expected, on Dec. 6, ahead of her planned college graduation.
Despite the change in plans, she brought her 10-day-old baby to the Ferris State University commencement ceremony and received her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, magna cum laude, with her family’s support.

“But I’d worked hard for this degree, and I was determined to walk with the rest of my class… so I just brought her to graduation with me.”
