A fifth-generation Arizona rancher and the state’s Democratic governor are calling for action on the Mexican border due to rampant illegal crossings and smuggling.
The rancher suspects cartel-orchestrated “diversions” draw federal authorities’ attention away from his borderland ranch.
“Our border is five and a half miles, but it’s even more critical and dangerous than that. It is a possible terrorist operation,” Chilton said. (Trending: Supreme Court Delivers Historic Ruling on AR-15s)

“People coming to our ranch are in camouflage and carpet shoes, and they’re coming through not to be seen.”
“There are gotaways. How many are terrorists? The Border Patrol tells us that about 20% are packing drugs to poison our people.”
He believes the cartels control all smuggling and pedestrian traffic on both sides of the border.
The governor has sent a scathing letter to President Biden, demanding reimbursement for “federal border inaction.”
The rancher urges the completion of the border wall and deployment of the U.S. military to repel potential terrorists and drug smugglers.
He emphasizes the need for legal immigration and compares the current border situation to Ellis Island’s past role in legal immigration.
“People should come into the United States legally. Ellis Island used to be the spot where people came through and everything was legal. We need to follow the law,” Chilton said.
