South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace revealed at the Gridiron Club’s annual winter dinner that she ended her engagement after finding her fiancé on a dating app.
She joked about the situation and also addressed rumors about her staff firings and alleged discussions of her sex life at work.
Mace, known for her colorful background and frequent media appearances, made light of the situation and referenced her past criticisms of Trump. (Trending: FBI Bribery Probe Caught Joe Biden’s Brother On Tape)
“If your fiance gets caught on a dating app, dump him. True story,” she said.
“My ex wanted to get married, but I attached it to border security,” she joked.
“I have to be careful when I say this next line because I don’t want to trigger Mike Johnson’s porn-monitoring software,” she said prior to speaking on her personal life.
“And now people say it’s going to hurt my career. I said right, because nobody ever knows saying ‘you’re fired’ would ever make it in politics,” she quipped in reference to Trump.
“A current staffer said this article is so bad. This story about you firing people is awful. So I fired him,” she said.
“The DailyMail claims I talked about my sex life in the office. This is categorically false. I save that topic for prayer breakfast,” she said.
