Hunter Biden is scheduled to appear in a California federal court in January for felony tax charges, including accusations of failing to pay taxes, file tax returns, and filing fraudulent tax returns.

The 56-page indictment alleges that he spent millions on an extravagant lifestyle instead of paying taxes and willfully failed to pay taxes for several years.

A plea deal with prosecutors fell apart in July, and now he could face up to 17 years in prison if convicted of the tax charges.

Biden has already pleaded not guilty to charges related to concealing drug use when purchasing a weapon in October.
