Chicago’s Mayor Brandon Johnson blamed Texas Governor Greg Abbott for President Biden’s border crisis, expressing horror that sick migrants were arriving in Chicago.
Johnson highlighted the city’s provision of free medical care to migrants, funded by the city and Cook County, but faced criticism for prioritizing migrants over the local black community.
He redirected blame at Texas, accusing Abbott of causing chaos and attacking the country. (Trending: Supreme Court Delivers Historic Ruling on AR-15s)

“At every single site throughout the City of Chicago, we provide on-site medical care,” the mayor said.
“I want you to hear me good,” Johnson said, “They’re showing up sick. Do you hear me? They’re showing up sick.”
“The governor of Texas needs to take a look in the mirror of the chaos he is causing for this country,” Johnson pressed.
“This is not just a Chicago dynamic. He is attacking our country. The sensibility and civility of our country — he is undermining that.”
Despite his dissatisfaction with the influx of migrants, Johnson reaffirmed Chicago as a sanctuary city and his commitment to supporting migrants.
Ultimately, Johnson’s primary issue lies with Biden, not the governor of Texas.
