Former President Donald Trump intensified his anti-immigrant rhetoric during a campaign stop in Nevada, emphasizing fears about migrants crossing the US-Mexico border and promising the “largest deportation operation in American history.”
Despite facing criticism for his language, Trump maintains a strong lead among GOP base voters.
“He’s disgusting,” Chris Christie said on CNN. (Trending: Devastating News For Hunter Biden After Defying Subpoena)
He outlined plans to expand hardline immigration policies, including reinstating and expanding travel bans and detaining undocumented immigrants.
Trump said he plans to expand his immigration policies, such as shifting “massive portions of federal law enforcement to immigration enforcement” and moving “thousands of troops currently stationed overseas to our own southern border.”
Trump’s visit to Nevada follows stops in Iowa and New Hampshire, as he seeks to maintain his lead in the GOP primary.
“Pretend we’re tied. Pretend we’re losing by three. You got to do this, because you know, the worst thing is everyone thinks, ‘Oh, what do we have to vote for? Trump is killing them.’ And then bad things happen,” Trump said to supporters.
Additionally, Trump faces legal challenges, including 91 criminal charges across four separate cases related to election interference.
“Trump’s lead among GOP base voters remains strong, and the flurry of travel to early contest states like Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada underscores an aggressive effort by the former president’s team to maintain that polling edge,” the report noted.
