The top strategist for the super PAC supporting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ White House campaign, Jeff Roe of Never Back Down, resigned amidst internal disputes and suspicions.

This comes as several senior staff members have left the group, and concerns have arisen about coordination between DeSantis’ campaign and outside groups, blurring legal lines.

According to The Washington Post, there have been internal disputes and suspicions between Never Back Down, the campaign, and other DeSantis allies that included accusations of “mismanagement and conduct issues, including numerous unauthorized leaks containing false information.”

“I can’t believe it ended this way,” wrote Roe.

In his statement, Roe said that the although the accusations were false, he still “cannot in good conscience stay affiliated with Never Back Down given the statements” in the story.

Jeff Roe had experience running Sen. Ted Cruz’s 2016 presidential campaign and advising on Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s victory.

He reportedly did not have much of a relationship with DeSantis before partnering with the Florida governor.

Donald Trump commented on the departure of Roe on Truth Social.

“Jeff Roe is out—GAME OVER for DeSanctimonious!” he wrote.

Jeff Roe, a prominent Republican strategist, announced his departure and received public support from former President Donald Trump. DeSantis has focused his campaign on Iowa, where Trump leads in recent polls.
