Harvard University removed a webpage promoting “affinity celebrations” for various identity groups, including LGBTQ+ graduates, Arab graduates, Indigenous graduates, graduates with disabilities, Latinx graduates, Black graduates, and Asian, Asian American, Pacific Islander, Desi-American graduates.

Journalist Christopher Rufo reported the deletion and highlighted that the university had provided racially segregated celebrations at its commencement event earlier in the year.

Harvard describes these celebrations as recognizing and celebrating the accomplishments of graduates from marginalized and underrepresented communities. (Trending: Ousted Democrat Who Filmed Explicit Tape Blames Homophobia)

“Harvard provided racially segregated ‘affinity group’ celebrations at its commencement event earlier this year,” Rufo wrote.

“The university has now deleted this page from its website,” he later added.

Rufo noted that “Whites and Jews were the only groups not provided with celebrations.”

Harvard University, however, defines “affinity celebrations” as “student-led, staff-supported events that recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of graduates from marginalized and underrepresented communities.”

The university faced criticism after its president’s comments on the context of calls for genocide against Jewish students, but later released a statement condemning such calls and affirming that those who threaten Jewish students will be held accountable.
