Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley Wolf of Delaware has left the Department of Justice (DOJ) and appeared before the House Judiciary Committee.
Wolf’s departure follows a subpoena from Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, who sought her testimony regarding the DOJ’s criminal probe into Hunter Biden.
Wolf claimed she left voluntarily and denied any political influence on her work. (Trending: Kid Rock Rages Against ‘Woke’ Target)
“At no time did politics play a role in or in any way impact my work as a federal prosecutor,” Wolf said.
Testimony from IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley alleged obstruction by Wolf in a separate investigation.
U.S. Attorney Davis Weiss, who was given special counsel status, testified that processes did not interfere with his authority.
“At no time was I blocked, or otherwise prevented from pursuing charges or taking the steps necessary in the investigation by other United States Attorneys, the Tax Division or anyone else at the Department of Justice,” Weiss said.
These events shed light on the DOJ’s handling of the Hunter Biden case and potential obstruction allegations.
