New York City spends significant taxpayer dollars on meals for illegal migrants, with about 70,000 meals costing $11 each being wasted in less than three weeks.
The city pays up to $33 a day per migrant for three meals, leading to potential monthly costs exceeding $1 million.
The city awarded a $432 million contract to DocGo for migrant care, despite the company’s lack of experience in this area. (Trending: Democrat Excludes White People From Holiday Party In Controversial Email)
The city is now trying to reduce waste by ordering fewer meals and cutting costs, while Mayor Eric Adams has announced budget cuts affecting various sectors due to the migrant crisis.
“I respect how New Yorkers are feeling,” Adams said.
“I respect their anger. I respect what they are feeling right now in this moment because many of them are struggling.”
“I don’t have deportation powers. I don’t have the power to turn buses around,” the mayor added.
The city’s struggle to accommodate tens of thousands of new illegal migrants has led to strained resources, including homeless shelters reaching their limits.
