An imam in Michigan caused controversy by advocating for Muslims to embrace “Jihad” and reject accusations of extremism.
Ahmad Musa Jibril, an Islamic scholar, criticized a version of “American-Zionist Islam” and emphasized the concept of holy war in Islam.
Jibril told followers on X that they were following a type of “American-Zionist Islam” that “suits the enemies,” and that “there is a holy war in Islam – it is Jihad.” (Trending: Obama Reveals His Fear For Joe Ahead Of 2024)
“This may be a surprise to many who grew up in the West, especially those who were born or grew up post 9/11, because of the growing number of hypocrites who are spreading the American-Zionist Islam,” he added.
“And it has nothing to do with Islam, that version of Islam is and Islam that suits the enemies.”
His statements come amid concerns about the increasing presence of extremism in the United States, as reflected in the doubling of the US terrorist watchlist in six years, according to a CBS investigation.
