Two scientists from the University of Florida were arrested for allegedly leaving their children home alone in cages while they went to work.

The couple was charged with aggravated child abuse and neglect, and the university placed them on administrative leave.

The children, aged 6 and 2, were placed in the custody of trusted family members. (Trending: Kid Rock Rages Against ‘Woke’ Target)

“I’m not used to walking in and seeing a cage where children are kept at night and, of course, when home alone,” said Gainesville Police Sergeant John Pandak.
