Tesla is recalling over 2 million vehicles in the U.S. to update software and address a defective system related to Autopilot.
The update aims to increase warnings and alerts to drivers and limit the areas where basic Autopilot can operate.
This comes after a two-year investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration into crashes involving the Autopilot system, some of which were fatal. (Trending: Kid Rock Rages Against ‘Woke’ Target)
The investigation found issues with the system’s method of ensuring driver attention, leading to “foreseeable misuse.”
