Iran-backed proxy group attacks on American troops in Iraq and Syria have surged to nearly 100 since the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict, resulting in at least 66 troops being injured, with 19 diagnosed with traumatic brain injuries.

Despite the Pentagon’s counter strikes, the attacks persist.

The U.S. has attributed these assaults to Iranian-backed groups, viewing them as attempts to pressure the withdrawal of American forces from the region. (Trending: Joe Biden Impeachment Formalized As Republicans Unite)

Concurrently, Iranian-backed Houthi militants have escalated attacks on commercial vessels tied to Israel in the Red Sea, involving American forces.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is set to meet with regional leaders, while Army Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla recently visited Iraq and Syria to discuss security concerns and the attacks against U.S. forces.

“The leaders discussed current regional and local security concerns with a particular emphasis on the attacks against U.S. forces,” Central Command stated.

“These visits provide valuable insights you cannot get without traveling to the region and seeing it first-hand. I came away with a great sense of pride in the professionalism, dedication, and competence of our incredible Service Members deployed in harm’s way, “ Kurilla said.
