“The place is already prepared. I wish to be buried in St. Mary Major,” revealed Pope Francis.
“We simplified it considerably,” said the Pope about shortening the nine day papal funeral rite.
Joking about the new process, the Pope said, “Well… I will be the first to try it out!”
“I feel well, I feel improved. They say that at times I am imprudent because I have the desire to do and to move. But aren’t these good signals?” said the Pope after not attending a recent climate conference.
“I am quite well,” he affirmed, but confessed that he was experiencing “new limitations with the advance of age” that will change his trips to foreign countries.
“People are very good in themselves. But I am somewhat complicated, and they support me, they back me, explained the Pope.
“People in the [Roman] Curia are very good,“ he continued.
Adding, “It’s also that grandfathers become much more gentle, and that’s part of becoming older!”
The pope emphasized the importance of discipline while acknowledging his own complexities and the support he receives.
