Ohio legislators have passed House Bill 68, which bans gender-affirming care for children and restricts transgender girls from playing on women’s sports teams in high school and college.

The bill is on its way to Governor Mike DeWine’s desk, who has not yet revealed his stance.

The legislation, largely supported by Republicans, could potentially override any veto. (Trending: Democrat Excludes White People From Holiday Party In Controversial Email)

Additionally, the bill includes amendments allowing existing gender-affirming care in Ohio to continue, but this provision does not apply to out-of-state families.

“Republicans, who have a supermajority in the legislature, could probably override any veto,” the report noted.

The bill has sparked controversy, with some medical experts criticizing the politicization and recklessness of transgender treatment.
