The National Association of Scholars (NAS) has called for the removal of Harvard President Claudine Gay due to allegations of plagiarism and her botched testimony before Congress regarding Harvard’s response to calls for genocide against Jews.
The NAS cited concerns about her professional work, record of plagiarism, and promotion of racial policies.
Additionally, conservative activist Christopher Rufo raised questions about potential plagiarism in Gay’s Ph.D. dissertation. (Trending: Joe Biden Impeachment Formalized As Republicans Unite)
“The National Association of Scholars (NAS) calls on the Harvard Corporation to remove Claudine Gay from Harvard College’s presidency,” wrote the organization.
“Her answers on that occasion were far from satisfactory, but they are not the only reason why she should be removed from the presidency,” charged the NAS.
Adding, “Her performance on December 5 should be — to borrow a word she used repeatedly on that occasion — put into context.”
The NAS also criticized Gay’s “shoddy professional work” and “record of plagiarism.”
The letter also mentioned accusations of bullying colleagues, suppressing free speech, overseeing a racist admissions program, and failing to address antisemitism on campus.
During her testimony, Gay refused to state if advocating for the genocide of Jews violated Harvard’s policy on bullying and harassment.
