Candace Cameron Bure discussed facing attempts to “cancel” her due to her comments on traditional marriage and her conservative Christian views.
She referred to the experience as a test of her faith and quoted a Bible verse about facing trials as a blessing.
Bure mentioned her brother welcoming her into the “James 1 club,” finding comfort in the verse’s message about overcoming struggles. (Trending: Democrat Excludes White People From Holiday Party In Controversial Email)
In 2022, she faced backlash for her comments on traditional marriage and her move from Hallmark to the Great American Family network, which focuses on traditional marriage storylines.
Bure emphasized that she never intended to hurt anyone and criticized the media for perpetuating a toxic climate.
“When I had a lot of these ‘bullets’ kind of hit me in the last year or so, they’ve been a really big challenge to me personally, to my heart, to my character, to my relationships, to my jobs,” Bure said.
“I remember being so upset over it, because it’s like how do you recover?”
“I’ll just say it, Cancel Culture is very real,” she added.
“And they were trying to cancel me.”
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance, let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing,” Bure read from the Bible, “but blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”
