Cornel West believes President Joe Biden may not run for the 2024 election due to criticism over foreign policy and the economy.
He compared Biden’s situation to former President Johnson’s decision not to seek reelection in 1968.
West, an independent presidential candidate, sees himself in a race against Democrats like Gavin Newsom and Gretchen Whitmer. (Trending: Democrat Excludes White People From Holiday Party In Controversial Email)

“I’m not even sure whether I’ll be running against Biden,” West said.
“Biden — I think he’s going to have an LBJ moment [and] pull back.”
“I’m just saying that I’m open to those possibilities, given the fluidity of the situation. He’s running out of gas.”
He downplayed concerns that he could spoil Biden’s reelection and states his intention to run in 2024.
“There might be slices of people ‘if I didn’t vote for West, I would have voted for Biden,’” West said.
“But that’s not to me, a spoiler. If you’re in a race, and you make a case, and they vote for you, how do you become the spoiler?”
West resigned from Harvard University’s Divinity School citing reasons related to social issues.
