GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy made several contentious claims during a CNN town hall in Iowa.

He falsely asserted that police “rolled out the red carpet” for Capitol rioters on January 6, and he reiterated a conspiracy theory that the FBI orchestrated the attack.

“If you are asking whether the violence at the Capitol on January 6 was part of some operation orchestrated by FBI sources and/or agents, the answer is emphatically not,” FBI Director Christopher Wray said.

“No. It was not violence orchestrated by FBI sources or agents,” Wray claimed.

Ramaswamy also blamed the Federal Reserve’s policies for growing income inequality, claiming they disproportionately benefited the wealthy.

However, his statements were misleading, as evidence shows that low interest rates helped many Americans, and recent reports indicate that wage growth has outpaced inflation.
