NewsGuard, an internet traffic cop, has been accused of displaying increased bias against right-leaning media outlets.
An analysis by MRC Free Speech America revealed a significant disparity in the ratings, favoring left-leaning sources over right-leaning ones.
Despite claims of political neutrality, NewsGuard’s treatment of certain media outlets, especially during the 2020 election, has raised concerns. (Trending: Dr. Fauci Says the Unthinkable About Going To Church)
MRC President Brent Bozell said, “NewsGuard is just another leftist group trying to censor conservatives.”
Adding, “We have the proof.”
A 2020 MRC study showed the impact of the Hunter Biden story being censored, reporting, “Full awareness would have led 9.4 percent of Biden voters to abandon the Democratic candidate, flipping all six of the swing states he won to Trump.”
The organization’s government funding and ties to Big Pharma have also sparked controversy.
This has led to a legislative fight over the implications of the federal government supporting an allegedly biased internet policing entity.
Rep. Richard McCormick (R-GA) proposed an amendment to the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act that would prohibit government funding from being funneled into entities like NewsGuard.
Rep. McCormick said his “amendment in the NDAA is something we can do right now, this year, to address the censorship of conservatives. MRC’s own research shows these organizations are heavily biased against conservatives and are the leading edge of the censorship industrial complex.”
