Rep. Debbie Dingell, a prominent Michigan Democrat, has raised concerns about the Democratic Party’s prospects, citing a poll indicating President Biden trailing Donald Trump in a hypothetical 2024 match-up.
She emphasized the need for the party to address key issues and engage with diverse voter groups in Michigan.
Dingell expressed cautious optimism about the Biden campaign’s responsiveness to her concerns, highlighting Vice President Kamala Harris’s attention to the matter. (Trending: Dr. Fauci Says the Unthinkable About Going To Church)
Additionally, she noted the complexity of Michigan’s political landscape and stressed the importance of effectively communicating the administration’s economic achievements.
“Everybody knows, I’m now the famous one who tried to warn everybody in ’15 and ’16 that we had a problem,” Dingell said.
“And nobody listened.”
“The thing I’m going to say about these polls: It’s getting people’s attention,” she said.
“We know what we have to do to go in and win this campaign,” Dingell added.
“It’s going to be hard-fought.”
“All of us have got to do a better job of talking about what has been done to save the economy,” she said.
“I think there are a lot of senior people inside the White House that get, ‘OK, this really is a problem,’” she said, referencing Biden’s struggle in Michigan.
