Hunter Biden defied a House Republican-issued subpoena by holding a press conference outside the US Capitol instead of appearing for a closed-door deposition.
He expressed his willingness to testify at a public hearing, which contradicted the subpoena’s demand for a private deposition.

“I’m here today to make sure that the House committees’ illegitimate investigations of my family do not proceed on distortions, manipulated evidence and lies,” said Hunter Biden in his opening statement.
Meanwhile, former President Trump made a joke about Hunter Biden’s absence during a speech in Iowa, highlighting the ongoing attention surrounding Hunter’s actions.
“Did you see Hunter today, right?” Trump said to the audience.
“He went to the wrong place. He went to the Senate instead of the House,” highlighted the former president.
“Everyone’s saying, ‘Where’s Hunter?’ See, it always gets, ‘Where’s Hunter?’” Trump continued.
“What a two-tier system of justice we have,” exclaimed Trump.
