Lawsuit Filed Against Zuckerberg’s Meta For Allegedly Stealing Copyrighted Content To Train AI

via Forbes on Youtube

Authors and content creators have filed a lawsuit against Meta, alleging that the company used their copyrighted materials to train its AI models despite legal warnings.

The lawsuit includes chat logs of a Meta-affiliated researcher discussing the use of a dataset containing copyrighted content.

The plaintiffs claim that despite legal concerns, Meta’s AI models were trained on the copyrighted dataset. (Trending: Dr. Fauci Says the Unthinkable About Going To Church)

Additionally, the dataset was later removed from public view and various platforms due to copyright infringement issues.

“At Facebook there are a lot of people interested in working with [T]he [P]ile, including myself, but in its current form, we are unable to use it for legal reasons,” AI researcher Tim Dettmers wrote.

“Would there be interest in working on this together, that is a Pile version which can be used without any issues at companies that [are] require[d] to follow more stringent legal criteria?”
