Kroger provided a special 5 percent discount to shoppers aged 55 and older earlier this week on Wednesday. This was meant to provide relief from rising prices.

The company aims to ease the strain of groceries for customers and make the holidays brighter.

The discount applied to pantry staples, fresh produce, and household essentials, and customers must present a photo ID to receive the discount. (Trending: New Movie Obamas Helped Make Raises Eyebrows: ‘Don’t Trust White People’)

“Customers can save throughout the year and across our stores as well as our digital shopping experience,” added the grocery giant.

“This extra discount for our senior shoppers is a great opportunity to ensure our customers can stretch their budgets further and make the holidays a little brighter,” they wrote.

“Kroger is committed to providing a convenient, affordable and Fresh shopping experience for everyone,” proclaimed Kroger in an advertisement.

Adding, “This one-day event gives seniors the opportunity to save on pantry staples, fresh produce, household essentials and more when using their Kroger loyalty account.”
