White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre refused to answer questions about President Biden’s son, Hunter, defying a congressional subpoena.
Hunter Biden chose to hold a press conference instead of sitting for a closed-door deposition with the House Oversight Committee, leading to accusations of a politically motivated investigation by Republicans.
Jean-Pierre declined to comment, stating that she will not get into “the politics” of the move. (Trending: New Movie Obamas Helped Make Raises Eyebrows: ‘Don’t Trust White People’)

“Is the president OK with his son defying a congressional subpoena?” a reporter questioned Jean-Pierre.
“I’m just not going to get into specifics on that. I would have to refer you to the president’s, not the president, but Hunter’s personal representatives,” Jean-Pierre said.
“He’s a private citizen. I’m just not going to get into it.”
President Biden has previously stated that anyone defying a congressional subpoena should be “held accountable” and criminally prosecuted.
