Vice President Kamala Harris removed Muslim Democrat Delaware State Representative Madinah Wilson-Anton from a Christmas party after she interrupted Harris’ speech to demand a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war.
Wilson-Anton, critical of the Biden administration’s support for Israel, expressed dissatisfaction with both Biden and Harris and stated she wouldn’t vote for either in the next election.
She emphasized the need for a shift in Biden’s approach towards the Palestinian situation. (Trending: New Movie Obamas Helped Make Raises Eyebrows: ‘Don’t Trust White People’)
“If the election was today … I wouldn’t be voting for Biden,” Wilson-Anton said.
“I wouldn’t be voting for Kamala Harris. I wouldn’t be voting for Trump either, or whoever the Republicans nominee.”
“I’ll be voting for a candidate for governor. I’ll be voting for myself for state rep.”
“Madam Vice President. I’m a state rep from Delaware — did you know that in Bethlehem, they’re not celebrating Christmas … that Baby Jesus is under rubble?” she yelled at Harris.
“I appreciate that you want to be heard, but right now I’m speaking,” Harris said.
“Call for a cease-fire now,” Wilson-Anton shouted.
“If they want Muslim and Arab Americans to support Biden in 2024, then Biden needs to switch course,” Wilson-Anton said.
“He needs to start messaging that he actually cares about Palestinian lives, that he actually cares about human rights by stopping this continued funding of the Israeli military.”
The White House responded, noting ongoing discussions with local and state leaders regarding support for Israel and efforts to engage American Muslims, Arabs, and Palestinians.
