Sylvester Stallone Ditches California For Red State

via The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Sylvester Stallone and his wife, Jennifer Flavin, recently moved from California to Florida for a change of lifestyle, with the relocation serving as a creative boost for Stallone.

The couple’s decision reflects a trend among celebrities leaving California for various reasons, such as economic factors.

Similarly, comedian Bill Engvall cited rising taxes as a reason for his move to Utah after 30 years in California. (Trending: Tucker Carlson Reveals ‘Secret’ Project He’s Been Working On For Months)

Additionally, actress Angelina Jolie expressed disenchantment with Hollywood and plans to relocate to Cambodia, a place of personal significance due to her humanitarian efforts.

“I was born and raised there, two of our kids were born there, but now everyone’s out, our daughters moved to the East Coast … so there wasn’t really anything left for me in California,” Flavin said.

“A few of our best friends also moved, so I think it’s [a] good change, just making new friends, living a totally different lifestyle. I love it, I’m really happy.”

“I wasn’t moving because ‘Oh, wow, I wanted another beautiful view.’ Any time changing that paradigm which you become used to, it’s literally to jump-start that process again,” Stallone said.

“I think California is probably the most beautiful state in the United States, I absolutely love it, but I just needed a change,” Flavin added.

“I felt like I’ve been there long enough, and life is short, so I wanted to make a change and not just be sitting in one house the rest of my life.”

“You know, there was nothing in California that we ever went, ‘Oh my God, we’ve got to get out of here.’… I still have a fondness for California,” Bill Engvall said.

“And like I said, if work comes, it’s probably gonna come out of LA… I still go back and do TV shows, you know, talk shows and stuff like that.”

“I had achieved all my goals in the industry. Additionally, from an economic standpoint, the taxes were becoming exorbitant. So, it was a mix of several factors. But I don’t hate California,” he added.

“I wouldn’t be an actress today,” Angelina Jolie said.

“When I was starting out, it wasn’t as much of an expectation to be as public, to share so much.” Jolie said.

“I grew up in quite a shallow place. Of all the places in the world, Hollywood is not a healthy place. So you seek authenticity.”
