A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll shows that former President Donald Trump holds a slight lead over President Biden in a head-to-head matchup, with 38% to 36% support.

When factoring in a potential third-party candidacy by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Trump’s lead increases to 5%.

The survey also reflects a general dissatisfaction with the binary choice, with roughly 60% of respondents wanting a third option.

Additionally, recent polling has consistently placed Biden behind Trump in national polls, although Biden’s team remains optimistic about the future.

“Predictions more than a year out tend to look a little different a year later,” Biden campaign spokesperson Kevin Munoz stated.

“Don’t take our word for it: Gallup predicted an eight-point loss for President Obama, only for him to win handily a year later.”
