Detroit Police Make New Arrest In Murder Of Synagogue Leader

A person of interest has been taken into custody in connection to the fatal stabbing of Detroit synagogue leader Samantha Woll.

Woll, the president of Isaac Agree Downtown Detroit Synagogue, was found stabbed outside her home and pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are withholding further details at this time.

“DPD can confirm that a person of interest has been taken into custody in furtherance of the investigation into the murder of Samantha Woll,” Detroit Police Department said in a statement.

“In an effort to ensure the integrity of this ongoing investigation, no further details will be released at this time,” they continued.

“Additional information will be released in the near future,” added the police.

The crime took place in the Lafayette Park neighborhood, and the suspect was released without being charged.

The incident occurred during a period of increased concerns for the safety of Jewish people in the United States and abroad.

Samantha Woll was known for her advocacy work and her funeral drew a diverse crowd, reflecting her impact across different communities.
