President Biden expressed the need for a change in Israel’s hardline government and warned of waning support for the country’s military campaign in Gaza.
He emphasized the necessity for Israel to seek a long-term solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and urged Prime Minister Netanyahu to make necessary changes.

“This is the most conservative government in Israel’s history,” said Joe Biden, adding that the Israel “doesn’t want a two-state solution.”
“We’ll continue to provide military assistance to Israel until they get rid of Hamas, but we have to be careful – they have to be careful,” explained Biden.
“The whole world’s public opinion can shift overnight, we can’t let that happen,” he continued.
Biden recently recalled giving Netanyahu a photo with the caption, “I love you but I don’t agree with a damn thing you had to say.”
“It’s about the same today,” Biden revealed, adding that he “had my differences with some Israeli leadership.”
Biden also highlighted the strained relationship with Israeli leadership and the need to address the growing humanitarian situation in Gaza.
National security adviser Jake Sullivan said, “Rafah cannot absorb a sufficient amount of aid to meet the needs of the Palestinian people which are only growing as there have been more people displaced.”
“We need the capacity that Kerem Shalom provides – on an emergency basis – to get more food, water, medicine and essentials in to be distributed to Palestinian civilians and we’re putting that quite urgently to the Israeli government to say, ‘We are asking you to do this ASAP because of the nature of the humanitarian situation on the ground,’” he added.
