Despite a deal between President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to reduce illegal immigration, the northern U.S.-Canadian border has seen an increase in illegal crossings.

Border Patrol encounters have risen, despite efforts to return migrants who cross illegally.

Some migrants are released into the U.S. if they claim a “credible fear,” contributing to the surge. (Trending: Elon Musk Condemns Arrest Of Jan 6 Protester)

The situation has not improved, with residents and officials reporting a worsening trend.

“We’re still open under this shell game allowing them to claim credible fear,” said National Border Patrol Council President Sean Walsh.

“At the current pace the 2024 numbers … will exceed those of 2023,” David Favro, sheriff of Clinton County, New York said.

“It is worse now than a year ago,” Northern Border resident Dan Cowan stated.

“I am sitting in my tree stand and I had a group of six or seven illegals run by me into the U.S.,” Cowan added.

Meanwhile, the southern border continues to experience record-high illegal crossings.
